An injury-time penalty by Naby Keita was the only goal as Asante Kotoko travel to La Cote d’Ivoire for the second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup play-off with a 1-0 advantage.
The first half of the match was played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday, October 27.
The center referee, Eugene Mdluli, had to discontinue the game as play became difficult as a result of heavy rains in Kumasi.
The match was pegged at 0-0 when it was rained off.
On Monday, when it re-started from the second half, the Porcupine Warriors continued to miss chances just like the first half the previous day with strikers Sogne Yacouba and Augustine Okrah coming close.
A goal by Richard Arthur was also disallowed by the South African referee for offside.
At the other end, captain Felix Annan was called into saves in the game as the Ivorian side pressed to get an away goal.
Keita replaced Collins Ameyaw in the 68th minute as coach Kjetil Zachariassen threw in his all to get a win.
But that winning goal had to come in additional minutes.
Yacouba was brought down in the goal area and the resultant penalty was converted by Keita.
The second leg will be played on Sunday at the Stade Félix Houphouët-Boigny in Abidjan.
