The Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) is from Thursday embarking on a mass testing of staff at its head office in Accra.
This was necessitated by one worker testing positive for coronavirus.
The worker is said to have sought permission to go for a test after complaining of ill-health having come into contact with a Covid-19 patient.
Speaking on Midday Live on TV3 on Thursday, Head of Public Affairs at GRIDCo Ebenezer Amankwaah said immediately he was given permission to go for the test, the worker isolated himself.
He late officially informed the Company that his results have come out positive.
Mr Amankwaah noted that management thus consulted the National Covid-19 Management Team for the test to be run on all staff.
He said it will not be a one-day exercise as they will continue until the close-to-300 members of staff are all tested.
Already, firms like the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited (BOST), Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) and Ministry of Finance have shut down their offices for disinfection or mass testing after some staff tested positive.
According to information made available to 3news.com, arrangements have been made for the core staff of these companies to work from home.
