Ghana’s active case count on coronavirus has seen a significant reduction in the latest update given by the Ghana Health Service (GHS) on Monday, July 13.
The active cases reduced from 4,192 to 3,782 as a result of the huge number of recoveries.
The Director-General of the Service, Dr Patrick Kuma-Aboagye, has always been insistent on the numbers regarding active cases, stating persistently that the fight against the viral disease can only be deemed being won if the number of active cases reduce.
As a result, the latest update is seen as a huge improvement in the case management situation.
There were 470 new infections, however, which saw the total cumulative cases jump from 24,518 to 24,988.
The recoveries-cum-discharges of 880 saw the number increase from 20,187 to 21,067.
There were no deaths as the number remained 139.
But those in critical conditions are eight while 25 are in severe conditions with four on ventilators.
