NDC’s Agona West PC in police grips
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Agona West Constituency, Paul Ofori-Amuah, is currently in police custody assisting in investigations over his role in an alleged plot to assassinate Gender Minister Cynthia Mamle Morrison.
He is said to have admitted issuing the two cheques found with the suspects who intended to carry out the alleged assassination on the Minister, who is also the incumbent Member of Parliament.
Mr Ofori-Amuah has been charged with preparations to commit crime to wit murder and abetment to commit crime to wit murder.
But for the timely intervention of the police, Madam Mamle Morrison would have been attacked by these suspects, an intelligence disclosed.
Reports indicate that upon a tip-off, the police quickly mounted a counter strategy and got the suspects arrested over the weekend in Agona in the Central Region.
