GPL: I’m back to prove a point – Bashir Hayford
Newly appointed Legon Cities coach Bashir Hayford says he is back to the Ghana Premier League to prove a point.
Hayford was appointed head coach in November after Goran Barjaktarevic was shown the exit door.
This is not the first time he will be coaching a GPL club. He once managed Ebusua Dwarfs and Ashanti Gold.
Bashir Hayford was unveiled as Legon Cities head coach in a press conference Friday and he said his return to the GPL brings him immense joy and he likes how the Royals run the affairs of the club.
He added he has examined the team and he will correct the mistakes he has seen.
“I have been with the team for some few days now and I have been able to analyze their strength and weakness, we will work on them together and hopefully improve going forward,” he said.
The former AshGold coach says the acquisition of Asamoah Gyan will help the team a lot.
“Asamoah Gyan is a fighter and a motivator. The boys are looking up to him a lot. I believe that he will replicate what I want the boys to do on the pitch. He will help us a lot.”
His first game in charge will be this Saturday when they play Dreams FC.
