The Australian High Commissioner to Ghana, Gregory Andrews, has revealed that he has discarded business suits he brought to the country from Australia after falling in love with African fabrics.
“I brought some suits with me – business suits. But, after about two weeks, I noticed that everybody was wearing the kaftan and the African fabrics, [which] looked more comfortable,” he said in an interview with journalist Solomon Mensah on the Youtube-based talk show ‘Talk To Solomon’.
H.E. Andrews said he asked one of the employees at the High Commission about the fabrics and was later taken to a tailor and “after having my first kaftan, I haven’t really looked back”.
Asked about his favourite Ghanaian dish, he indicated he enjoys Fufu.
The month of March has, for some time now, been earmarked for the celebration of Ghana with Ghanaians urged to wear, eat and patronize everything Ghana.
