Ghana’s duo, Danlad Ibrahim and Fatawu Ishahaku picked individual awards at the 2021 AFCON U-20 tournament staged in Mauritania.
The Black Satellites after putting up a spirited performance to win Ghana’s fourth traphy at the U-20 level, also had players who were rewarded for their efforts.
Danlad Ibrahim and Fatawu Ishahaku won the best goalkeeper and player of the tournament respectively.
Ibrahim who kept in all 6 games for the Black Satellites kept 4 cleansheets and helped the team to win on penalties against Cameroon in the quarter finals.
Fatawu Ishahaku scored from a long range to light the tournament up with some great strikes.
The 16-year-old was consistent for Karim Zito throughout the tournament and scored two goals.
Percious Boah missed out on the topscorer’s award after failing to add to his tally of 3 goals to catch up with Ugandan’s Derrick Kazooza.
The two players managed to make it to CAF’s best XI performing players of the tournament.
