Match week 22 of the Ghana Premier League was exciting as expected with a lot of adrenaline rushing through the veins of Ghanaian football fans and peppered with few surprises.
On Friday, WAFA defied the odds to inflict a 3-2 win on Berekum Chelsea – their first home loss since 2016 on match day 22 of the Ghana Premier League at the Golden City Park.
The former Ghana Premier League champions broke the deadlock under one minute (23 seconds) into the game – the fastest goal in the League through Bright Amponsah who scored with an easy finish after the goalkeeper of WAFA Kwadwo Osei had blocked his initial shot. However, WAFA came back to glean all three points at the end of the game.
Techiman Eleven Wonders in their match day 22 fixture against Aduana Stars on Saturday came from behind to win 2-1.
Wonders who did not have their head coach Ignatius Fosu-Mensah at the dugout due to issues with the supporters, managed to record an emphatic win over two times Ghana Premier League champions, Aduana Stars FC.
A late goal from Samuel Boakye handed Eleven Wonders all the three maximum points at the Ohene Ameyaw park.
Asante Kotoko Kotoko locked horns with the struggling Legon Cities at the Accra Sports stadium. A goal from Augustine Okrah ensured that the porcupines retained the second spot on the log.
Goals from Ahmed Toure, Prince Opoku Agyeman and Yaro Ibrahim against Ebusua Dwarfs was enough for the Mauve and Yellows to sit on top of the league for the second week running.
The Oak tree was cut down in Dawu after Hearts of Oak failed to utilize their chances in the first half. Dreams FC came from the break to win the game by 2 goals. The win pushes them to the fourth position while Hearts descends to the fifth position.
