Legon Cities have been handed a huge boost in their fight against relegation after they were awarded three points by the Ghana Football Association.
The Accra-based club have been declared winners of the abandoned Ghana Premier League clash with Ebusua Dwarfs at the Cape Coast Stadium.
The matchday 23 encounter was called off at halftime after match officials refused to show up for the second half.
Referee Alpha Adey was threatened by Ebusua Dwarfs supporters. According to a tweet by Legon Cities, the referee said “he doesn’t feel safe to continue.”
Legon Cities went into the halftime break with a 1-0 lead courtesy of a strike by Richard Kwabena Antwi in the 9th minute.

Meanwhile, Ebusua Dwarfs have dropped to the relegation zone as three points have been deducted from their accumulated points.
They also have been fined GH¢5000.00 payable to the GFA, 50% of which shall be paid to Legon Cities pursuant to Article 33(5)(b) of the GFA Premier League Regulations.
