Ghanaian swimmer Abeiku Jackson has missed out on the men’s 100m butterfly semi-finals after clocking 53.39sec in the heats on Thursday morning.
The 21-year-old’s time placed first in Heat 2, but unfortunately could not guarantee him qualification to the next round as his Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games journey came to an end.
51. 74sec is the slowest time among the 16 qualified swimmers.
Jackson can, however, be proud of setting a new national record.
