Ishmael Nortey has been dismissed from Osu Kinkawe Dzaase as member and Oshiahene of Osu.
A statement by the Osu Kinkawe Dzaase said he acted in ways that are deemed subversive to the Osu Stool.
“On 15th March, 2022, the Osu Kinkawe Dzaase wrote to you suspending you indefinitely for acts that were deemed subversive to the Osu Stool. The letter noted that you wrote a letter to the police, purportedly on behalf of the Osu Kinkawe Dzaase on a false Osu Kinkawe Dzaase letterhead seeking the police assistance to install a new Osu Mantse.
“Despite the suspension, you have continued to act in ways that are deemed subversive to the Osu Stool.
“On 21 st June, 2022 together with your family head, you superintended over an unauthorized launch of a strange seal for the Osu Stool. This so-called seal was neither proposed nor authorized by the Osu Stool Dzaase,” the statement said.
It added “You have overstepped your bounds as Oshiahene whose role is only restricted to the Osu Mantse Stool room and arrogated to yourself, powers you do not possess.
“These acts have the potential to bring the Osu Stool into disrepute, and public ridicule, and also affect the peace and security in Osu.”
