Ghana captain Evelyn Badu has been ruled out of the U-20 Women’s World Cup, and a replacement has been named.
The youngster was initially ruled out of the Black Princesses’ first match against the United States on Thursday evening due to an ankle injury.
However, the technical department has decided to leave her out of the final squad sent to FIFA. Afia Nyarko has taken Badu’s place.
FIFA has approved the change on medical grounds. Nyarko, who was dropped after the France friendly, will now rejoin the team in Costa Rica.
Black Princesses will face the United States in their group opener later today at 17:00GMT at the Estadio Alejandro Morera.
