Registered dietitian and public health practitioner, Fredericka Serwaa Doku, has been named the ‘Health Personality of the Year’ at the 2025 Women’s Choice Awards Africa (WCAA) for her innovation, outstanding performance in healthcare promotion and leadership.
The WCAA is an event that honours women and organisations driving leadership, innovation and social impact across the continent.
Madam Doku, widely known on social media as ‘Finest-Dietitian, was recognised for her advocacy of healthy lifestyles and her commitment to promoting nutrition and holistic wellness.
She has built a distinguished career in clinical nutrition, public health programming and women’s health research.
Currently serving as a Public Health Dietitian at Greater Accra Regional Hospital under the Ghana Health Service, Madam Doku provides clinical care, leads therapeutic nutrition interventions and contributes to population-level health promotion efforts.
Her academic credentials include an MPhil in Human Nutrition and Dietetics, complemented by expertise in conditions such as Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), fibroids, endometriosis, pediatric nutrition and metabolic disorders.
Beyond clinical practice, Madam Doku has emerged as a prominent voice in health communication, hosting television segments, community education programs and social media campaigns aimed at translating complex scientific information into accessible messages.
She has also spearheaded initiatives such as the PCOS Foundation in Ghana, digital nutrition tools for diabetes self-care and child-feeding education, and women’s health awareness programmes that integrate mental health, fertility, and lifestyle modification.
The Women’s Choice Awards Africa, organised by Global Ovations, celebrates women and organisations making significant contributions in diverse sectors across Africa.
