Senior Pastor of the Christ Tower of Grace, Rev. Emil Clad, has said 2021 is the year for nation-building.
Speaking at the church’s watchnight service to welcome the new year, Rev. Clad called on Christians across the country to rise and be counted as they have a crucial role in the job of nation-building.
“Christians in government must stand up and be counted. Where are the Christians in Parliament, where are the Christians at the District Assemblies? Where are the Christians at the Presidency?” he queried.
According to him, the insistence of Christians to ensure the right things are done will be the beginning of the nation’s turnaround.
“When they want to do a bad deal, you should stop it. If stopping it fails, you should not be a part of it. Righteousness is what will preserve this nation. We cannot join unbelievers to steal money from the state.
“I don’t care which party you belong to. We [Christians] must influence the country for God. Christians are people who should know that they cannot steal when placed in positions of influence and power,” Rev Emil Clad said.
Drawing from the scripture in Matthew 5, Rev Clad exhorted that, “As Christians, we are the light of the world. Our presence in the community should bring illumination and that means righteousness. It is righteousness that preserves a nation. Don’t join sinners. We will build the nation by preaching Christ. This year, our assignment will be to preserve the world, and we will do so by evangelizing Christ to the unsaved.”
He said nation-building also implies that everyone must play their part.
According to him, punctuality to work is a good indication of one’s commitment to the job ahead. He wondered why many so-called believers see nothing wrong in reporting late for work.
“I don’t understand why Christians must report to work late. We are the standard and what example will we be setting for the world if we do the exact opposite of what is expected of us?”
He added that we are also obligated to prepare for eternity, an event which can occur any moment from now.
