Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has commended the Managing Director (MD) of the State Housing Company Limited (SHC), Kwabena Ampofo Appiah for working to provide affordable housing units to Ghanaians.
He indicated that Mr. Ampofo Appiah has been working hard since his appointment as the Managing Director of the State Housing Company Limited to ensure government’s commitment to addressing Ghana’s housing deficit is realized.
The Asantehene made the remarks when the Works and Housing Minister, Francis Asenso-Boakye, and some officials from the Ministry and the MD of the State Housing Company Limited paid him a courtesy call at the Manhyia Palace as part of the minister’s working visit to the Ashanti Region.
The State Housing Company Limited has been handed over a 200-acre land at Dedesua in the Ashanti Region by the Asantehene to build housing units.
The Asante monarch was satisfied with the efforts by the State Housing Company in the construction of housing units in various parts of the country.
He said “When it comes to construction of housing, my grandson here, Appiah is working hard at the State Housing Company. He recently built some housing units for Immigration officers at Sunyani, and he is replicating a similar gesture in other parts of the country. He came to me and I gave him land to build such houses, and I am not demanding any money from him. I told him to do it well for the benefit of the country”.
He advised young people who have been given positions under this Government to work hard to develop the various sectors since they are the leaders of tomorrow.
He urged them to remain committed in the discharge of their duties to afford the generation yet to come to have trust in them.
