GRABBED!!! Ibrahim Mohammed
In a significant breakthrough, the Ghana Police Service has arrested Ibrahim Mohammed, also known as Commander Kanewu of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), for threatening to shoot and harm some public officials.
The arrest was made on September 11, 2024, two days after Mohammed was declared wanted by the police.
The suspect’s troubles began when a video surfaced online showing him issuing threats against some public officials including the Inspector General of Police, George Akuffo Dampare and the Interior Minister, Henry Quartey.
The video, which went viral on September 9, 2024, sparked widespread outrage and condemnation from various quarters, prompting the police to launch a manhunt for Mohammed.
According to sources, Mohammed had been on the run since the video was released, but his luck finally ran out on September 11, 2024, when he was apprehended by the police.
The police had previously placed GHC 50,000 bounty on him for anyone who can provide information that can lead to his arrest.
He is currently in police custody and will be taken through the due process of the law.
The arrest of Mohammed brings to an end a saga that had been unfolding for days, with many calling for his arrest and prosecution.
