MTN supports Kwahu Easter with air time
Abene (E/R), April 15, GNA - The Mobile Telecommunication Network (MTN) has presented of 5,600 Ghana cedis and 1,400 Ghana cedis worth of airtime (credit) to the Kwahu Traditional Council in support of this years Kwahu Easter festival. The elders of the Kwahu Paramouncy at Abene received 2,000 Ghana cedis and 500 Ghana cedis worth of airtime while the chiefs and elders of Obomeng, Mpraeso and Obo received 1,200 Ghana cedis and 300 Ghana cedis worth of airtime each and a hamper containing drinks and MTN souvenirs as the companys support for the Kwahu Easter festival. Presenting the cash and other items to the chiefs and elders at Abene and other communities the Eastern and Volta Area Sales and Distribution Manager of MTN, Mr. Prince Charles Owusu-Nyarko, said MTN had supported the Kwahu Easter festival for the past seven years due to the social and economic benefit of the festival to the people and communities in the area. He said in addition to the support MTN would be organizing interesting competitive entertainment and sporting event during the period to create excitement and make the festival a memorable one. Mr. Owusu-Nyarko said MTN Ghana Foundation had donated over 14.5 million Ghana cedis into corporate social investment initiative in areas of health, education and economic empowerment in various communities across the country. He said in the Eastern Region, a 50-seat ICT centre had been constructed for the University College of Environmental Studies at Kyebi and a 20-seat ICT centre had been constructed for the Akropong School for the Blind in addition to a 33-seat bus.Anum Anglican Primary School got a 10-seat ICT centre while plans were far advanced for the refurbishment of the Methodist Senior High School at Mpraeso. The chiefs thanked MTN for the annual support and assistance to the Kwahu Easter festival and urged them to improve upon their services to their customers in the area.GNA
