Koforidua, Nov.06, GNA – All is set for this year’s National Festival of Arts and Culture (NAFAC) to be celebrated in Koforidua, expected to bring chiefs and people from across the country to showcase their achievements and potentials.
The Festival is unique in that it would provide the opportunity for the newly created six regions to demonstrate their rich culture to the world.
It would be celebrated from November 8 to 15, on the theme: “Empowering the Youth through Culture, Tourism and the Creative Arts for Employment and Wealth Creation.”
Mr Stephen Sedofu, the Eastern Regional Director of the Centre for National Culture (CNC), told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the President would officially open the Festival on Saturday, November 9.
On Monday, November 11, there would be a colloquium on the theme at the Koforidua Technical University, with each participating region having a stand for exhibition.
Each region would have a day to make a presentation on its potentials, achievements and investment opportunities.
Activities lined up included concert party and musical shows at the Regional Centre for National Culture and the revival of traditional games like oware.
