Accra, Nov. 26, GNA - Mr. Akwasi Agyemang, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has said that, the Music In Africa Conference for Collaborations, Exchange and Showcases (ACCES) coming to Ghana for the first time will help showcase Ghanaian rhythm to the rest of the world.
The third edition for the much-awaited music conference under the auspices of the Music In Africa Foundation would take place in Accra from November 28 - 30, 2019 as music industry professionals converge to share ideas and create opportunities.
According to Mr. Agyemang, bringing ACCES to Ghana is part of efforts by the GTA to boost tourism by bringing foreign professionals to share experiences which would be mutually beneficial especially as Ghana marks its ''Year of Return''.
''For us music is at the core of what we do. There is no doubt about how much we (GTA) depend on music to put Ghana on the world map.
''This particular conference is unique considering the calibre of people coming together to discuss the business and distribution aspect of music and it would help develop Ghanaian music.
''Having ACCES in Ghana with music experts from over 50 countries is really a good platform to showcase our rhythm, culture and warmth of the people and we look forward to the start of the conference,’’ he said.
Leading speakers at this year's event include Banky W, Sway, Obrafour, Sarkodie, Efya, Samini, Kyekyeku, John Collins, Ebo Taylor, Bibie Brew, Wanlov the Kubolor, among others.
ACCES 2019 will kick off on 28 November with the Music In Africa Honorary Award ceremony where Ghanaian legends Ebo Taylor and Bibie Brew will be awarded for their outstanding contribution to their home country's music industry and that of Africa as a whole. They will join previous award recipients Baaba Maal (2017) and Eric Wainaina (2018).
