Accra, Dec. 27, GNA – Management of Weinglo Family International, a foundation dedicated to suicide prevention and the improvement of lives of the underprivileged, has fed over 1,000 people in the streets of Madina, Circle, Accra and Kaneshie.
The team, made up of over 15 volunteers joined hands in putting smiles on the faces of vulnerable, destitute and underprivileged on the streets.
Mrs Gloria Boatemaa Andoh, Executive Director of the Foundation and Suicide Prevention Activist, said growing up, the plight of people on the streets begging for food has always been a matter of great concern.
She said the initiative was to express love and to assure the less privileged in society on the need to never to give up in the face of present circumstances.
She said the foundation has resolved, as part of its activities, to encourage people not to take their own lives during the festive season and has decided to provide food to those on the streets as well.
The Executive Director said the Foundation decided to feed the needy during the festivities in areas like Madina, Circle, Accra and Kaneshie in the Greater Accra and would continue to Kumasi on 28 December as part of the Agenda to feed 1000 people during the festive season.
