The comment follows news of local rice farmers in the Northern region who are unable to find buyers and sufficient storage space for almost 60,000 bags of rice.
He said Ghanaians should endeavor to support and buy products made in Ghana to create employment and help the economy grow.
“When we get the opportunity to get products made in Ghana let’s patronise them and support. No Korean or Chinese will come and buy our rice to their country because they have theirs,” he said in an interview on UTV, monitored by Adomonline.com.
Mr Ahenkorah added that Ghana doesn’t benefit from imported products but rather boost the economy of other foreign countries.
“When we import lots of products into the country we are creating employment for the foreign factory owner, workers and those who ship the products. We are not gaining anything from exporting goods,” he said.
He urged Ghanaians to buy organic rice from Ghana.
“I’m campaigning extensively in my constituency on the need to patronise made in Ghana rice. The fact is the rice made in Ghana is organic and tastes better than the imported ones,” he said. Read Full Story
