Bole based Nkilgi FM’s sources say residents are worried over what they said is the lack of information on who has contracted the virus in the community is involved, which part of the community he or she stays and how he contracted the virus.
Our source says the issue is currently the most discussed in the area with some residents threatening to leave the community if more information is not put out.
Nkilgi Fm spoke to the Savannah Regional Director of Health Services, Dr Chrisantus Kubio and he said the people of Salaga should stay calm and observe the Ministry of Health protocols on the COVID-19. He said the disease is around and if it is not necessary no one should go out. He added that the people of Salaga should keep the social distancing, and also use face masks at all times if it becomes do necessary to move round.
Dr Kubio, however, said the Regional Directorate will not disclose the identity of the person involved more especially because of the way those who contract the Virus are seen as outcasts.
The Ministry of Health in their latest update on the COVID 19 situation in the country confirm the first case of the COVID-19 in the Savannah Region which thus becomes the 14th Region to record a case in the country.
Many people in the region, especially in the markets, are not properly adhering to the basic principles of prevention of the COVID-19 such as social distancing and the weaeing of nose masks. Read Full Story
