Eastern Region has recorded its first case of the novel Coronavirus, the Lower Manya Municipal Health Director, Bismark Sarkodie has disclosed.
Mr Bismark Sarkodie confirmed the case on Wednesday, and indicated that contact tracing had since commenced.
Mr Bismark Sarkodie said individuals who came into contact with the patient would be quarantined and monitored to prevent possible spread.
The Chronicle understands that the patient is an Indian who works with the company constructing railway from Akosombo to Tema.
He returned to Ghana a few days ago after visiting his country. He has since been quarantined and receiving treatment at an isolated facility at Kpong.
