The Director General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr Patrick Aboagye, has admitted the acquisition of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) remains a global challenge.
He, however, disclosed that the government has received a significant quantity of PPEs and masks, which they are distributing. Dr. Aboagye urged heads of institutions to ensure efficient distribution of these PPEs.
At a media briefing in Accra, the head of GHS also mentioned that they are testing all people who have been identified through contact-tracing.
Updating Ghanaians on the number of cases, which has been tested he said, “As at 6pm yesterday, over 6,000 samples had been taken for testing throughout the country. Testing is still ongoing.”
He continued that the Ridge Hospital has four people on admission, one at 37 Military Hospital with six people on homecare. He further hinted that two cases are being managed at home in Obuasi.
