There have been strong claims that Arsenal are plotting to strengthen their midfield with the signing of Atletico Madrid star Thomas Partey.
The report claims that the 27-year-old Ghana international has a £45million (€50m) release clause but Arsenal are hoping to get him for a lower price.
The Gunners have had a long-standing interest in Partey, who is reportedly keen on making the move to north London.
Partey played the full 90 minutes in Atletico’s 2-2 draw with Barcelona on Tuesday night.
Meanwhile, Bukayo Saka has put pen to paper on a new long-term deal with Arsenal, the club have announced.
The Gunners confirmed on Wednesday afternoon that the promising 18-year-old forward has committed his future to the club.
After securing his new deal at the Emirates, a jubilant Saka revealed he can continue to live his ‘dream’.
Saka tweeted: London is my home. Arsenal my team. I’m so happy to finally announce my contract extension. I love playing for this club and I’m looking forward to what the future holds.. The hard work continues so I can continue living my dream. God is Great !!’
