Owusu Bismark, a 16 year old Junior High School (JHS) 3 student writing his exams in the Sefwi Juaboso District of the Western North Region who is battling with a Kidney problem, is appealing for help to enable him continue with his education.
Owusu Bismark, who spoke in an exclusive interview with The Chronicle, says due to his health condition, he finds it extremely difficult to read the examination papers.
Even the Coronavirus (COVID-19), in some ways has helped me to go in and out for my routine check-ups and also got enough time to study in the House. I can’t see well on the paper when I am reading the questions; I find it extremely difficult to see the words,” he bemoaned.
It was very sad to see school mates of Owusu Bismark leaving him behind in the examination room when going for break to prepare for the second paper after writing the English paper on Monday morning.
The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Sefwi Juaboso, Madam Martha Kwayie Manu, who visited the examination centre, could not control herself, as she shed tears upon seeing the situation of the young JHS graduate. “I cannot fathom why a young boy like Bismark could suffer from such an ailment.
“I will try my best to help the boy, his parents are farmers and where can they even get financial support to care for his health, so let’s all do our best to help the boy, he could be a future president; he could be a minister or Pastor to serve our dear country Ghana,” the DCE told The Chronicle.
In all, a total of 1,817 are sitting the Basic Entrance Certificate Examination (BECE) in the Juaboso District. Out of the total figure, 945 are males, whilst 872 are females.
