The Atwima Kwanwoma District Assembly has embarked on unprecedented development in the area of education.
Over the last three and half years, the assembly has been able to construct classroom blocks for communities like Asaago, Aboabokese, Aboabo, Trede Kotwi, Ahenema Kokoben, Bebu, Foase, and Aburaso to enhance effective teaching and learning in the schools.
Nana Okyere Tawiah Antwi, District Chief Executive (DCE), disclosed that the Atwima Kwanwoma Senior High School (SHS), Twedie, Wamase and Nwiniso No1 & 2 had also benefited from projects, and gave the assurance that every community in the district would benefit from a school block project.
The DCE further disclosed that the assembly had put up Community-based Health Planning and Service (CHPS) compounds across the district, culminating in the sod cutting ceremony by the Health Minister, Kwaku Agyeman Manu, for the construction of a district hospital.
On the Food and Jobs programme, the DCE mentioned that they were seriously working on that with the supply of 200,000 cocoa and 40,000 coconut seedlings to the farmers, for which the assembly did not take any money from them, and also went to Biragokrom to support the farmers by spraying their cocoa trees
Nana Okyere Tawiah Antwi also disclosed that a contractor, Asabea Engineering Company, had been contracted to rehabilitate all roads within the district, especially from Yabi to Akosomo, Trade to Mpatasie, Bebu to Ampabame No. 1, and Bebu to Darko.
Meanwhile, the assembly has called on all communities to form watchdog committees in their respective areas to help the police combat crime.
