The Assembly Member for Deduako-Apemso Electoral Area in the Oforikrom Municipal Assembly, Mr. Richard Nyarko, has donated items worth GH¢15,000 to widows and widowers in the area.
The items included 100 pieces of cloth, 280 packs of rice and cooking oil, 44 boxes of tin tomatoes, 12 boxes of sardines, and six hair dryers.
The donation was the second since Mr. Nyarko was elected Assembly Member in December 2019.
Mr. Nyarko, who is popularly called Obolo, said the donations were a commitment he made to himself to help the less-privileged and children in his electoral area.
He said the hair dryers were for some young ladies who had undergone their apprenticeship and needed startup kits to begin their trade.
Mr. Obolo said his intention was to support any Junior High School (JHS) graduate who scores up to aggregate ten with some basic items needed for school as a token of support, and appealed to his constituents to be serious with whatever area of endeavour they find themselves.
The beneficiaries of the Assembly Member’s gesture commended him for the support and asked God’s protection for him.
