Inter Allies defeated WAFA SC 1-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday afternoon in the match day 15 encounter of the ongoing Ghana Premier League.
Nafiu Sulemana’s powerful header in the second half powered Inter Allies their third win of the Season.
The first half was very intense, with Inter Allies dominating and creating some decent chances, but none found the back of the net.
It was very difficult half with WAFA showing one of the toughest defensive setups in the league. The first half ended goalless.
WAFA started the second half by creating a lot of problems for the home team. However, five minutes after the hour mark, Inter Allies’ Fard Ibrahim sent a teasing corner kick which Nafiu Sulemana was quick to meet with a strong header. The goalkeeper for the first time in the game was beaten.
It could have been two for Inter Allies ten minutes later, but Richard Arthur’s one-on-one opportunity with the goalkeeper was calmly saved.
It was a great show by the goalkeeper who also did very well to parry Abdul Nassiru Hamzah’s shot away.
WAFA showed strength in the last embers of the game but their efforts went futile.
Richard Arthur who had his debut for Inter Allies was named the NASCO Man of the match.
