The Dunkwa Municipal Police Command has met with all members of the Upper Denkyira East Municipal Assembly to deliberate on steps to address insecurity in the Municipality particularly the Dunkwa Township.
The meeting was necessitated by the rampant cases of snatching mobile phones and bags, smoking of marijuana and activities involving unregistered and unlicensed motor bikes, among others.
The Dunkwa Municipal Police Commander, DSP Jones Edmund Afutu proposedthe formation of the Voluntary Task Force comprising the assembly member for each electoral area and the police to patrol the locality at night to help reduce the crime rate in the Municipality.
DSP Afutu therefore urged Nananom and residents of various communities to support members of the Voluntary Task Force.
Chief Superintendent Seidu Bayanyinah, the Municipal Commander of the Ghana Immigration Services, Upper Denkyira, assured that proper measureswould be put in place to deal with foreigners who are operating illegal businesses in the Municipality.
Meanwhile, the Presiding Member for Upper Denkyira East Municipal Assembly, Akwasi Owusu Antwi has commended the initiation of the Voluntary Task force since it would go a long way to serve theinterest of the community in the area of security.
PM Owusu Antwi urged the residents of the municipality to support the initiative.
