Residents of Kavili, in the Sangnarigu district, have arrested and handed over to the Tamale police, two armed men, who allegedly attempted to rob the people of their belongings.
The Northern Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Mohammed Yussif Tanko, who disclosed this to the Ghanaian Times, on Wednesday, said the suspects, have been identified as Imoro Abdul-Rahman, 25, and Mubarik, 23.
He said the suspects allegedly attacked and robbed some people of their money and mobile phones, when they were returning to their homes in the night.
DSP Tanko said the victims raised the alarm, which attracted some residents to the scene, and the suspects upon seeing the crowd took to their heels, but they were arrested.
He said the residents took the suspects to the chief’s palace, and the police were invited to take custody of them.
DSP Tanko said one of the suspects attempted to escape, but the police arrested him.
