The Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) has warned that it will not accept cheque books from customers of ex-UT and Capital banks.
The decision takes effect from March 31, 2018.
A statement issued by the bank said it has issued GCB cheque books to the affected customers.
The Bank of Ghana last year approved the takeover of Capital Bank and UT Bank by the GCB Bank Ltd after it revoked their licences. The BoG explained that the action became necessary due to “severe impairment of their capital.”
