Arsenal will face Manchester City in the 2025/26 Carabao Cup final at Wembley on Sunday, March 22 2026.
City beat Newcastle United 3-1 in the second leg of their semi-final to record a 5-1 aggregate win over the holders to set up a showdown with us at the national stadium next month.
Arsenal on the hand made it to the final by knocking out Port Vale with a 2-0 win at Vale Park in round three, before Brighton & Hove Albion were beaten 2-0 at Emirates Stadium in October.
Just before Christmas, the Gunners required penalties to advance past Crystal Palace after a 1-1 draw in N5, but that sent them into the semi-finals where they beat Chelsea 3-2 at Stamford Bridge, before Kai Havertz’s 96th-minute goal secured a 1-0 success over the Blues in the return leg to seal a spot at Wembley.
Pep Guardiola’s team, meanwhile, beat Huddersfield Town and Swansea City away from home before knocking out Brentford at the quarter-final stage at the Etihad Stadium, leaving them to successfully negotiate the semi-final against Newcastle.
It will be Arsenal’s ninth League Cup final, and their first appearance since losing to City in 2018. Arsenal have won the trophy on two occasions, the last back in 1993, while City are seeking their ninth triumph, having last had their name engraved on the three-handled trophy in 2021.
Meanwhile, City will be without January signing Marc Guehi due to Cup Rules ruling him out, having joined City after they had already played the first leg of the semi-final.
