Ghanaian defender Jerome Opoku is edging closer to a move from Istanbul Basaksehir to Trabzonspor, with talks between the two clubs described as intensive and progressing well.
According to reports in Turkey, the 27-year-old centre-back is understood to be ready for the switch as Trabzonspor push to strengthen their squad for the Super Lig title race.
Opoku only joined Basaksehir in July 2024 on a deal running until June 2027, but his performances have quickly attracted attention. He has made 16 Süper Lig appearances this season, contributing 2 assists and reinforcing his reputation as a reliable presence at the heart of defence.
The Ghana international has also earned 9 caps for his country, underlining his growing status on the international stage.
Interest in Opoku is not limited to Turkey, with Premier League sides Nottingham Forest and Fulham also linked with the defender.
His current valuation is listed at â¬5 million, having joined from Arouca for around â¬1.5 million in July 2024, while BaÅakÅehir reportedly demanded â¬9 million during talks with Galatasaray earlier in February 2025.
