Ghana are closely monitoring the injury situation of Mohammed Kudus after the attacker was ruled out for an extended period with a thigh problem at Tottenham Hotspur.
Kudus sustained the injury during Tottenham’s home match against Sunderland earlier this month and was forced off after just 19 minutes. Initial assessments suggested a minor issue, but further examinations have revealed the problem is more serious than first feared, with reports in England indicating he could miss several weeks.
The setback is a concern for Ghana head coach Otto Addo and the Black Stars technical team, with important international fixtures approaching. Ghana are scheduled to face Germany in an international friendly in March as part of preparations for upcoming competitions.
More significantly, Kudus is expected to play a key role in Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign. The Black Stars have been drawn in Group L, where they will face, Croatia, and Panama in June. His fitness is considered vital given his influence and consistency in the national side.
At club level, Kudus has been one of Tottenham’s most reliable attacking players this season, featuring in almost every match and providing width, pace, and creativity. His absence has added to Tottenham’s attacking problems and increased speculation that the club may move for reinforcements during the January transfer window.
Ghana officials are expected to remain in close contact with Tottenham’s medical staff as they assess Kudus’s recovery timeline, with hopes he will be fit in time for the crucial international window later this year.
