Henry Asante Twum has opened up on changes within the Ghana Football Association technical team, confirming that John Paintsil has been reassigned within the Black Stars setup.
According to him, Paintsil, who previously worked closely with head coach Otto Addo as part of the assistant coaching group, is no longer among the core assistants. He has now been moved to the high performance department as part of a broader restructuring effort.
The adjustments form part of plans ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup to be hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, as the FA looks to strengthen the team’s backroom staff.
"Now as I speak to you John Paintsil has left the core assistant coaches that is we have moved him to high performance. He is not part of the core assistants we have moved him from core assistants to high performance differently under the head coach," he told Peace FM in an exclusive interview.
The FA thinks these changes will help us that our aim that we want to go to the World Cup and do a good job for Ghana will be a success,"
