Eintracht Frankfurt still cannot predict when German-Ghanaian winger Ansgar Knauff will be able to return to action.
According to Bild, there is currently no concrete timeline for the 24-year-old’s comeback following an unexpected abdominal operation around a week ago.
The versatile attacker suddenly felt severe pain on a scheduled day off and had to undergo surgery, reported as an intestinal procedure. Head coach Albert Riera described the situation as completely unforeseen, with Knauff needing immediate medical attention rather than suffering a typical football injury.
Because this is not a standard muscle or ligament problem, the length of his absence is difficult to estimate. Within the club, no one is counting on him returning in the next few weeks, and the focus has shifted fully to a calm, complete recovery instead of any rushed comeback.
Knauff is now back at home and on the mend, but it remains open when he will be fit enough to rejoin team training and compete again. For Frankfurt, his health takes priority, even if his indefinite absence is a sporting blow in the middle of a demanding season.
