Leonard Owusu has expressed his delight after completing a return to Fredrikstad FK for the 2026 season, describing the move back to the Norwegian club as a moment that feels like coming home.
The 28 year old Ghanaian finalised his switch after lengthy negotiations involving the club and its partners, ensuring he remains with Fredrikstad following an impressive spell that made him a key figure in the side’s midfield.
The midfielder spent last season at the club on loan from Serbian outfit FK Partizan, where his energetic displays quickly earned him admiration from supporters.
Speaking after completing the deal, the midfielder highlighted the emotional significance of returning to the club and the city where he established himself as a fan favourite.
“It feels fantastic to be here. Leo is back, I am home,” Owusu said.
His first stint with Fredrikstad saw him make 35 appearances across competitions while contributing two important goals. Beyond the numbers, his influence was felt through decisive moments that left a lasting impression on the club’s supporters.
Among the most memorable highlights of his previous spell were a dramatic late equaliser against HamKam and a decisive winning goal in the fiercely contested derby away to Sarpsborg 08.
