Army Ladies advanced to the final of the 2025/26 Ghana Women’s FA Cup after a dominant 5-1 victory over FC Samartex Ladies at the Cape Coast Stadium on Saturday.
The emphatic result secured their return to the final, where they will face the winner of the other semi-final between Hasaacas Ladies and Jonina Ladies.
Army Ladies took control of the game when it mattered most, pulling away with four unanswered goals after the match had briefly been level in the second half. Samartex, featuring in their first semi-final, showed resilience by cancelling out Army’s early lead after the break, but failed to sustain the momentum.
A missed penalty proved costly for Samartex at a crucial stage, as Army Ladies capitalised to take full control of the contest. Their clinical finishing in the latter stages ensured a comfortable margin of victory.
Earlier, Army Ladies had gone into halftime with a slender 1-0 advantage, leaving the tie finely balanced. However, their superior experience and composure ultimately told in the second half.
The win marks a return to a familiar stage for Army Ladies, who last won the competition in the 2022/23 season. They will now be aiming to reclaim the title as they prepare for the final.
