The National Commission on Culture has organised a conference for its Regional Directors and Accountants to strengthen coordination, financial accountability and performance across the institution.
The conference brought together officials from different regions of the country to discuss administrative, financial and operational issues affecting the work of the Commission.
Management of the Commission explained that the meeting was aimed at improving the delivery of its mandate and ensuring that regional offices work effectively with the headquarters.
Participants held discussions and presentations on performance management systems within the public service, as well as ways to improve financial reporting and programme documentation.
The conference also highlighted the importance of preparing proper work plans and submitting programme reports on time to help improve the efficiency of the Commission.
Officials further stressed the need for stronger communication between regional offices and the headquarters to ensure smooth operations.
Participants were also briefed on upcoming national cultural programmes, including the Student Drama Festival, which is being organised in collaboration with the Ghana Education Service and the National Theatre of Ghana.
According to the Commission, the initiative aims to promote creativity and develop theatrical talents among students across the country.
The conference reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to promoting Ghana’s cultural heritage while strengthening its systems to deliver impactful cultural programmes nationwide.
