Asante Kotoko head coach Abdul Karim Zito has shared his delight with the signing of defensive midfielder Prince Badu, insisting that the player will give his side the needed balance in midfield.
The Kumasi-based outfit announced the acquisition of Badu on Wednesday, December 31, indicating that he has signed on a three-year deal from fellow Ghana Premier League side Nations FC.
Speaking on the new signing, Karim Zito backed Prince Badu to help Asante Kotoko maintain stability and intensity in midfield.
“We felt it was very important to strengthen the defensive midfield area. At the moment, we have only one natural defensive midfielder, and we also have to carefully manage the minutes of Lawson Manu, who is still a young player. Prince gives us the balance we need.
"He understands the league, he’s tactically disciplined, and he will help us maintain intensity and stability in midfield over the remainder of the season and the next few years,” Karim Zito told AKSC Media.
Badu joins the Reds with a lot of expectations and will be playing a key role for the Porcupine Warriors in the second round of the 2025/26 football season.
