AS Monaco have removed Ghanaian defender Mohammed Salisu from their UEFA Champions League squad following a season-ending injury.
The French side will face champions Paris Saint-Germain in the playoffs, but will do so without Salisu, whose absence has forced changes to the registered squad.
The club have also excluded Paul Pogba and Takumi Minamino because of fitness concerns. Krepin Diatta, Wout Faes, and Simon Adingra have been added as replacements.
Salisu suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury and will be sidelined for the remainder of the season, leaving Monaco with little choice but to omit him from the playoff squad. The defender is expected to return next season.
The setback also rules Salisu out of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, dealing a significant blow to Ghana’s hopes ahead of the tournament.
Before his injury, Salisu had made 17 appearances across Ligue 1 and the Champions League, scoring one goal for Monaco. He joined the club from Southampton in 2023.
