New SK Brann signing Stella Nyamekye has opened up on her decision to join the Norwegian club, citing belief in their long-term vision and the opportunity for continued development.
The 20-year-old Black Queens midfielder completed her move from American side Gotham FC, signing a contract until 2028.
"I chose Brann because I believe in the project, and it will give me the best opportunity for my development and playing experience," Nyamekye said.
"Brann is a great team that is fighting for several titles."
The Ghana international spent the past year under contract with Gotham FC in the National Women's Soccer League but was on loan at Fort Lauderdale United, where she made 14 appearances and contributed one goal and two assists.
Nyamekye also outlined her playing style and what she brings to her new team.
"I am a player with good overview, good ball control, and I am creative in the final third. I can also contribute by both scoring goals myself and setting up chances for my teammates."
Her goalscoring pedigree was established during her time with Dreamz Ladies in Ghana, where she scored 31 goals in 41 matches. She has also found the net twice in three appearances for Ghana's U20 national team and has six caps with one goal for the senior Black Queens.
SK Brann sporting director Lars Johan Myklebust expressed excitement about the acquisition.
"Stella is a player we have great faith in. She has good ball control and is strong one-on-one, and we believe she will fit well into the way we want to play. We are bringing in an ambitious player with great development potential, and we are looking forward to getting her in place."
Nyamekye will link up with her new club in Bergen following her commitments with Ghana at the Women's Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
