Ghanaian midfielder Abraham Okyere delivered a standout performance despite Las Vegas Lights FC falling 3â2 away to Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC in the USL Championship.
With the hosts 2â0 up after goals from Levonte Johnson and Jonas Fjeldberg, Okyere almost dragged Lights back single-handedly.
He first halved the deficit on 75 minutes, timing his run perfectly to finish after a cut-back from substitute Nykolas Sessock. Just four minutes later, Okyere struck again, arriving in the box to level the score at 2â2 and cap a brilliant personal spell.
However, Las Vegas were punished late on when defender Benjamin Ofeimu turned the ball into his own net on 85 minutes, restoring Colorado Springs’ lead and ultimately sealing the points.
Okyere’s brace crowns an impressive start to the 2026 campaign, taking him to 2 appearances with 2 goals in the USL Championship so far. Las Vegas Lights will look to build on his form when they travel to face FC Tulsa in their next league fixture on Sunday, March 22.
