Ghana international Forson Amankwah put up a top performance for Norwich City on Tuesday night, helping the side to secure a 2-1 victory over Derby County in the English Championship.
In the Round 44 encounter staged at Carrow Road, the home team had the opportunity to take the lead after just nine minutes into the first half when they were awarded a penalty kick. Mohamed Toure accepted responsibility from 12 yards but failed to convert the spot kick.
Later in the 33rd minute, the forward finally found the back of the net after he was assisted by Ghanaian youngster Forson Amankwah.
Although Derby County would also score through David Ozoh in the 54th minute to restore parity to the contest, a Liam Gibbs equaliser in the 60th minute secured a hard-fought victory for Norwich City.
On the matchday, Forson Amankwah lasted 80 minutes before making way for Errol Mundle Smith.
Amankwah, 23, despite having his issues with injuries this season, has played a key role for his side. He is pushing for a strong end to the season in hopes of making Ghana’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
