Ghana FA vice president Mark Addo has praised the Black Princesses following their qualification for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland.
The Black Princesses secured qualification to their eighth straight tournament after defeating Uganda 3-2 on aggregate following a 1-1 draw in Kampala.
The team received a warm welcome upon their arrival in Accra after booking a place at the tournament for the eighth consecutive time.
Speaking after the team’s return, Addo praised the players for their determination and resilience during the qualifiers.
“What this team has achieved is no small feat. When the odds were against you, a goal down and a player sent off, your resilience and hard work delivered the result that secured World Cup qualification,” he said.
He also congratulated the players on behalf of the Football Association and the country.
“On behalf of President Kurt E.S. Okraku, the Executive Council, and the entire nation, we are proud of you. Congratulations on this historic achievement,” he added.
The FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup is scheduled to take place from September 5 to 27, 2026.
