Ghana’s Black Stars will begin their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying campaign with a challenging away fixture against reigning champions Ivory Coast.
The draw, held on Tuesday in Cairo, placed Ghana in Group C alongside Ivory Coast, The Gambia and Somalia as they continue their pursuit of a return to continental prominence after missing out on the 2025 tournament.
The campaign will start between 21 September and 6 October 2026, with Ghana travelling to face Ivory Coast in their opening match before hosting The Gambia in their second fixture.
Matchdays three and four, scheduled for 9 to 17 November 2026, will see the Black Stars at home to Somalia before heading away for the reverse fixture.
The final round of qualifiers, set for 22 to 30 March 2027, will see Ghana host Ivory Coast in a potentially decisive clash before concluding their campaign away to The Gambia.
Full Group C fixtures are as follows:
MD1: Gambia v Somalia; Ivory Coast v Ghana
MD2: Ghana v Gambia; Somalia v Ivory Coast
MD3: Ghana v Somalia; Ivory Coast v Gambia

After failing to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, the Black Stars will be aiming to secure a strong finish in Group C and book their place at the next edition of the tournament in East Africa.
