VfB Stuttgart are weighing up a temporary move for German-Ghanaian attacker Justin Diehl this summer as they look to give the 21-year-old more regular playing time.
Reports in Germany say several clubs in the second division are already tracking his situation closely, which could open the door to a loan deal.
Diehl has a contract with Stuttgart until 2029, but his path into the first team has been blocked by injuries and a lack of rhythm. He did not feature for the Bundesliga side’s senior team last season and instead spent most of his time with the reserve side in the third tier.
There, the former FC Koln player showed flashes of quality, making 21 appearances, scoring three goals and adding four assists. Those numbers suggest there is still plenty of potential to unlock, especially if he can stay fit for a longer stretch.
A loan could be the next sensible step for a player known for his technical ability. Regular minutes at a higher level would give Diehl the chance to build confidence and strengthen his case for a future breakthrough in Stuttgart.
