Ipswich Town manager Gary O'Neil believes new signing Abdul Fatawu has all the qualities to make a major impact after the Ghana international completed his move from Leicester City.
The 22-year-old winger signed a five-year contract with the Premier League club following an impressive 2025/26 season and a successful FIFA World Cup campaign with Ghana.
O'Neil believes Fatawu's combination of technical quality and physical attributes will strengthen Ipswich's attacking options.
"Abdul is a young player who has already gained good experience in the game, and we're excited to have him with us."
The manager highlighted the winger's ability to trouble defenders in one-on-one situations.
"He has strong physical and technical attributes, is comfortable on the ball and can test the opposition in one-on-one situations, so will provide us with good options within the squad."
O'Neil also pointed to Fatawu's recent performances for Ghana at the World Cup as evidence of his continued development.
"Having represented his country at the World Cup this summer, I know he is now looking forward to getting to work ahead of the Premier League season."
After spells with Sporting CP and Leicester City, Fatawu arrives at Portman Road with Champions League, Premier League and international experience despite being only 22. Ipswich will hope the Ghanaian winger can carry his recent form into the new campaign as the club aims to establish itself in the top flight.
