Dwarfs begin DOL Super Cup campaign in style with emphatic victory over RTU

Ebusua Dwarfs made an impressive start to the 2026 X1 Energy Drink DOL Super Cup on Monday, beating Real Tamale United 4-1 to move top of Group A.

The Cape Coast side produced a dominant display at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium, scoring twice before half-time and adding two more goals after the break to secure all three points.

Ebusua Dwarfs needed only four minutes to take the lead, with Nathaniel Appiah finding the net to give the Mysterious Boys an early advantage.

Dwarfs continued to control the contest and were rewarded again just before half-time when Sylvester Doku doubled their lead in the 42nd minute.

The Cape Coast club went into the interval with a 2-0 advantage and appeared firmly in control.

Real Tamale United came out strongly after the restart and quickly reduced the deficit. Rahim Akanta converted from the penalty spot in the 47th minute to give RTU hope of mounting a comeback.

Their hopes were short-lived, however, as Ebusua Dwarfs restored their two-goal advantage 10 minutes later. Osei Bright Kelvin scored in the 57th minute to make it 3-1 and put the Mysterious Boys back in a commanding position.

Dwarfs continued to press for a fourth goal and eventually got their reward deep into added time.

Emmanuel Osei struck in the 90+4th minute to complete a convincing 4-1 victory and underline Ebusua Dwarfs' strong start to the competition.

The result puts Dwarfs at the top of Group A after the opening round of matches.

Earlier in the day, Debibi United and Attram De Visser played out a 3-3 draw in the group's other fixture.
